Rob invests both in medical device companies and IT companies, and has particular insight into the complexities of bringing a medical device to market. His past investments include Access Closure, Aneurx, Clarify, Conceptus, Alteon, Packeteer, Embolic Protection, Endotex, Endocardial Solutions, and Apama.

Rob has been with ONSET since 1987, following a career at Sun Microsystems, where he was Director of Marketing and spearheaded the company’s expansion into the design automation marketplace. He had previously served as VP and Manager of General Electric-Calma’s $100 million electronic design automation business, and was also a team leader for Boston Consulting Group, overseeing the development of a range of corporate business strategies.

Rob’s friends know him for his reputation as an avid cook in the kitchen, where he employs the same attention to detail, quality and craftsmanship that he brings to his work in funding early-stage startups.

Rob received his B.A. from Hamilton College and his MBA from Harvard Business School.
